An international company managed by a former Lee’s Summit resident is looking for a groundswell of local support in a world-wide competition.
Dubai-based Taka Solutions is a finalist in The Venture competition which awards the world’s most promising social enterprises with funding to take their work and impact to the next level.
Taka Solutions won the regional competition for the Mid-East in Dubai in January, and is now competing in the global finals July 12-16 in New York City where $750,000 will be awarded.
Taka Solutions is an energy savings company that applies smart engineering, technology and financing to help buildings and individuals save energy, money and climate-changing carbon emissions.
The company’s managing director is Charles Blaschke, a 2003 graduate of Lee’s Summit High School.
In New York City, Blaschke will give a five minute presentation to world-wide judges on why Taka Solutions is a company that can make a world-wide global impact.
The current phase of the competition is a five-week popular voting period for a share of $250,000 in funding. Each week, for five weeks, $50,000 is awarded to the top vote-getters for the week and every vote equals real money.
Vote once a week through June 12 at www.theventure.com/gulf/en/finalists/taka-solutions.
